Many viewers said that in the era of video salons, they saw films from the original Star Wars trilogy that were different from the classic ones. That there were some scenes, which then was not when viewed in a cinema. I readily believe in it. I believe because in video salons often versions of films were stolen by pirates from the "editing table"
In 1992 I myself saw a similar version of another fantastic film - The Lawn Mower. Somewhere a month before the official premiere at the cinema, I watched this movie in the video salon. And then, under the impression of watching, I wanted to see it again on the big screen. And he was terribly disappointed. Not only was the official theater track much shorter, but it also changed many scenes in places. As a result, the plot, it can be said, even the meaning has changed.
So with “Star Wars” it turned out almost the same story. Many have seen on videotape version, where in in the fourth episode, Luke at the beginning of the film is watching the space battle in binoculars. Or where in the sixth episode, Luke himself made a new lightsaber and hid it in R2-D2. Later, all these scenes surfaced in the cut scenes, which I now invite you to watch.
This is not to say that these scenes would have greatly influenced the plot, but some of them would very well explain some plot lines.
For example, in episode IV there is a moment when Luke Skywalker meets an old friend before the attack
I don’t know about you, but I always wondered: "Who is it at all?" But thanks to the scenes cut out, it turns out that Luke was very friendly with him on Tatooine. However, see for yourself (unfortunately without translation)
Or here in episode V, not only was the conversation between Leah and Khan much longer, because the vamp rebel base did not hit the film (remember, these are Yeti from the snowy planet who captured Luke at the beginning of the film). But the main thing in these scenes on. Remember the kiss that Leia gave her brother to tease Han?
So, when viewing the cut scenes, it turns out that this kiss could have a completely different meaning - the twins were drawn to each other (and not like a brother to her sister). I think it is worth highlighting this moment
It seems to confirm the fan theory that by the time of the film shooting, Lukas had not yet thought of making Skyoker and Leia such close relatives
