Interestingly, almost all the actors who played the main roles in this film are somehow connected with his previous film "The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!"

When Eldar Ryazanov and Emil Braginsky gave the play Irony of Fate to the Lensovet Theater, it was imperative that the main role, Nadia Shevelev, be performed by leading theater artist Alisa Freindlich. Some time later, the authors were invited to the premiere. , as Freundlich plays in the production, to which he was answered: “And she doesn’t play at all in your play!” After that, Ryazanov did not go to the premiere, and Freindlich couldn’t invite to the film based on this play, as it was already approved Barbara Brylska. Later, Ryazanov decided to stage his next play, he would take it only if Alisa Brunovna played the role of Kalugin.
