To be honest, the full-length fantastic movie last year disappointed me. There is not a single worthy new project. All year the filmmakers showed us solid sequels, remakes and kinokomiksy.
An exception can be considered unless "Blade Runner 2049", which is still a remake of the old cult film.
But it was nice to see him. Yes, the film is slow, someone can even say it's long. But this is one of his chips, made for the original film, which was also not overloaded with drive. But the very atmosphere of the film - is addictive. And still it can be called the most beautiful film of the year.
What else can be distinguished from feature films. Probably "Logan".
Frankly, I do not like superhero movies. But the "Logan" stood out from their common weight by the fact that they were made on the basis of not an empty kinomiks, but a very worthy drama
Everything else, I think, can easily be given a list, films that you can watch once to have fun, but there will definitely not be a desire to revise: the next series of Star Wars, Galaxy Guard, Torah and Planet of the Apes,
Against the background of all this crisis in the genre, the series for fans of fantasy became a salvation and an outlet. It is there that the audience is waiting for the appearance of something new. True, we must be fair, this year there were not so many interesting novelties. But there were very interesting extensions
The main event of the year, certainly became the third season of "Twin Peaks".
David Lynch once again proved that you do not need to wait for common sense in his creations. Vanguard, violation of all canons and complete demolition of the roof - this is what the third season of the cult series. Someone will call all this a hallucinogenic delirium. And probably will be in something right. But all this is done at the highest level
I liked the second season of "Mysterious events" (well, or "Very strange cases," if you are closer to it).
The series, with a head dipping into the atmosphere of the 80's with a mass of film dispatches. It is impossible to describe it. If you looked at it, I think you understand everything, if not, then the description will be superfluous to you - why do you need extra spoilers. I even envy you a little, you have all the sensations yet to come
Well, the second season of "Space" (or do you prefer the name "Expansion"?).
The best that was shot in the genre of space fiction since the time of "Firefly". Well, at least from my point of view. Someone will say that the successors of "Firefly" are "Dark Matter" or "Killjoys" (the next seasons of which also came out in 2017). Perhaps, but I do not consider The Expanse as the successor of Firefly. But the plot itself, and the filming of "Space" is much steeper than that of "Dark Matter" and "Kayfolomov"
What else is worth noting from the series. Very atmospheric first season of "American Gods" by Neil Geiman.
Quite careful attitude to the source, with the pumping of secondary characters. It's a pity that Brian Fuller and Michael Green left the project. Without them, the second season may be less atmospheric

Not bad is the second season "Detective agency Dirk Gently." The truth of the third will be gone - the project is closed.
Well, from the habit of everything (well, or almost everything) we look at the "Game of Thrones" and wait, when it will finally end (it's not even much more important than that)
Well, I think that's enough. Add what you liked about the fantasy of 2017. And a convincing request, you have to write about something, "What does this film do here, is it really fantastic ?!" The fantasy genre is very diverse and is not limited to the scope of "science fiction" (Science fiction)
