Va-Bank
The Va-Bank Group in Program A, 1991
The group "Va-Bank" was created by Alexander F. Sklyar in 1986. The first Soviet nonprofessional group participated in a foreign festival (Warsaw's Rob Reggay in 1987). They were the first of the domestic rock musicians to record and release an album abroad (in 1988, the album "VA-BANK" in Finland)
The band has 17 albums, the last of which was recorded in 2016. True, this album is more a solo album by Sklyar, as the band broke up in 2008

Polite refusal
"Polite rejection" of the late 80's
The group "Polite Refusal" was formed in 1985 in Moscow. And already in the following year, 1986, the first album of the group "Opera-86" was recorded. And already the next, "Dust on shoes", released in 1987, was recognized as the best Moscow release of the year
On the account of the group of 12 albums (over the last one, "Military Coupons", dated 2017, the work lasted almost 10 years)

Sunday
"Sunday". 1981
The group "Sunday" in this list is conditional. Despite the fact that this group has existed since 1979 and acts on this day, in the described period it did not exist. Musicians of "Sunday" played then in groups "SV", "Shanghai", "Lotus", "Trio", "Time Machine" and revived the group only by 1994
But do not remember the group that gave us such names as Alexey Romanov, Konstantin Nikolsky, Eugene Margulis, Alexei Makarevich, Pavel Smeyan, I could not
Despite such a long existence, the band recorded only 4 studio and 9 live albums

Civil defense
"Civil Defense" 1988
One of the brightest teams of those years is, of course, "Civil Defense"
The group was created by Yegor Letov in 1984. After the first success at the Novosibirsk rock festival, Letov practically single-handedly recorded 8 albums of the group in less than 2 years. And all during its existence, "GrOb" recorded 26 studio albums
The group ceased to exist after the death of its leader, Yegor Letov, in February 2008
"Civil Defense" 2007
DDT
DDT Group of 1988
The group "DDT" is born from Ufa, where in 1980 Yury Shevchuk and Vladimir Sigachev met, then the first magnetoalbum, called "DDT-1"
True, then "DDT" was not the name of the group, it was in 1982, when the song "Do not shoot!" became a laureate of the contest of young performers "Golden tuning fork" and the group had to urgently give the name. Shevchuk was even invited to Moscow to write a song for Melody, but the project did not take place - Shevchuk refused to sing the songs of Soviet composers, which was a condition of the contract
Well, a wide success came after Shevchuk moved to Leningrad, where the renewed group "DDT" in 1987 became the main opening of the V festival of the Leningrad Rock Club
In total, the group that has successfully performed so far, recorded two dozen studio albums

Who else to mention these letters? Probably "Dialogue" and "Dynamics", although the peak of their popularity was still up to the described period. (And many will say: "Is this rock ?!")
