Star Wars: The Last Jedi. "Kylo Ren is no longer a sucker!" Feedback from Russian viewers

Prior to the premiere of the eighth episode of "Star Wars" there was one day left. I already told you about the first reviews of foreign viewers on the film, who could see it before the premiere. For our people we also made such a show - yesterday there was a pre-premiere show for the Russian press. And they, too, "have something to say"

Alexei Darbinian, "Global Cinema | Cinema Magazine"

"The last Jedi" would have been an excellent film if the script writers had not scattered the relatively long-bogged canons on which the previous trilogies had worked (a relatively new one).

And so not bad.

Ivan Shapkin

I do not want to say that the "Last Jedi" is Disney's work on the mistakes, because they started right from the very beginning, but after them the 7th episode looks like a demo version. All the epic, sweep, philosophy, despair, pain, as well as normal humor, all this was saved for this film

Vadim Elistratov, editor-in-chief of DTF

"The Last Jedi":
1. Ten goals above the seventh episode
2. Perhaps the best "Star Wars" in general, if you do not cling too much to the past
3. Blockbuster of the Year
4. They made me not breathe for the last hour, not to sob
5. Treat cancer (but this is not accurate)

The cool thing is that the film explains so many drawbacks of the seventh episode and makes it BETTER.

DTF Games and Cinema

They looked at the "Last Jedi". This is without a doubt the main blockbuster of the year. It will be fiercely argued about in the coming weeks, if not months.

The 8th episode is a mockery of the "Star Wars". Please do not let Ryan Johnson go to the movies anymore. And disperse the Lucas Story Group. I'm ashamed that I saw it and believed in a "big plan".

Hal

Looked at the new "Star Wars". Kylo Ren is no longer a sucker! (And twice deserved a standing ovation). The film is excellent, better "Awakening Force" and much better prequels!

Well, for a snack a few opinions from the magazine "The World of Fantasy"

Sergei Serebryansky, editor-in-chief of "The World of Fiction"
"It seems that Ryan Johnson also heard jokes about the remake of" The Empire Strikes Back "- the film is full of graceful quotes from various parts of the Saga, without obvious copying .But not by single references: Johnson has perfectly worked on the saga heroes, revealed their characters, created interesting relationships and more than once made me sit on tenterhooks, worrying for their fate.Of course, Kylo Wren succeeded best - a bright and bright character came to replace the hysterical from the "Awakening of Power." However, with the role of a hysterical and ridiculous person successfully copes Max. Even about the nurse joke there.

But, alas, many potentially interesting moves have been merged halfway, as if the author was afraid of his boldness. It is possible that the evolution of the characters will still affect the events of the IX episode, but too easily the characters return to their original state. And yes, we were discovered a couple of secrets (not all), from those that wound up five years from the moment of restart, and in one case the turns are really stunning, but others turned out to be zilch. Otherwise, you will not say.

It's still a cool, entertaining and fascinating movie, but it's already quite another Star Wars. Perhaps if you forget about the past for two and a half hours, they will only get better. "

Alexander Gaginsky, Deputy. editor-in-chief of "The World of Fiction"
"These are normal, worthy" Star Wars. "Not at all the best, of course, - how much can Western critics?
This is "Star Wars", full of events. It seems that in no other episode were there so many fateful plot twists that affect the history of the saga. The film constantly tries to surprise: it prepares for one, and then cheerfully pokes you in the face. Ironically, this is what makes it predictable: expect not what it seems to be going to, and guess. But the development of the plot itself is reasonable: it did not slip into the "Santa Barbara" about the lost relatives, nor in the substitution of character characters. Even my fan theory was partially confirmed, although not in the main.

These are the most comic "Star Wars". Who poured out about the gloomy tone? There are several deaths and self-sacrifices, but much more jokes and ridiculous chases. In the line of Finn, they even overdid it: it does not look like "Star Wars", but "Fantastic Beasts". It seems that Johnson did not know what to take an extra character, and sent him almost to the stall to run. His line is the most chaotic and useless. The only thing that redeems her is the chic character of Benicio Del Toro and his hints that the struggle between Light and Darkness is just someone's profitable business. It is a pity that this idea is clearly not developed.

Still, the most significant is connected with Ray, Luke and Kylo Wren. The denouement of this line (and "The Last Jedi" as a whole) is the only time the film caught me: I really did not understand this twist "

"The last Jedi" will be a pleasant surprise for all who are disappointed in the distant-distant galaxy after the "Awakening of the Force." It turns out that playing on the nostalgia of the fans can be stylish: borrowing from the original trilogy is successfully combined with bold innovative solutions, and the spectacular visual component, excellent acting and sparkling dialogues scare the impression of viewing even higher.

Of course, there were some flaws. Some characters are once again left completely uncovered, and the problems of the protagonists are often caused by their earlier actions. On the other hand, I'm not sure that this is a bug, not a feature, since Ryan Johnson allowed himself a bit of a row about a number of jambs in the seventh episode.

In general, the film looks cheerful, does not seem tight at all. If last year's "Outcast" you did not have enough, then the "Jedi" certainly return faith in the bright future of the saga ... Exactly until you remember that the ninth episode will again shoot JJ Abrams.

Dmitry Shepelev, permanent author

The last Jedi "is undoubtedly the most postmodern episode of the" Star Wars ". This is by no means a remake, which was accused of "Awakening Force", although there are many quotes in it. The film is simply riddled with scenes in the spirit of "What if? .." There is a lot of FanService in it.

Which is better, this is a good film. Good, but ... not a fairy tale. Yes, it's a perfectly shot down blockbuster of Disney Corporation. It can be watched and enjoyed, but there is much less magic in it than in the original trilogy. And the fans of the saga will argue for a long time whether to forgive the "Last Jedi" this sin.

Well, ours still have a pluralism of opinions, and not one oil, as was the case with Western audiences
