Coward, Bulbes, Experienced. The most famous Soviet movie trio

Vicin, Nikulin, Morgunov. Coward, Bulbes, Experienced. The trinity, invented by Leonid Gaidai, and played by wonderful actors, was one of the most popular in our country. They were not only movie heroes. Their characters went into folklore, became heroes of anecdotes. But this Trinity has its birthday - December 27th. It was on this day in 1960 that the artistic council of Mosfilm approved Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov for the main roles in the comedy "The Dog Barbos and the unusual cross"

The first to join the trio was Georgy Vitsin. By that time already quite a successful and popular actor. He already worked with Gaidai in the film "The Bridegroom from the Other World"

Mikhail Zharov and Ivan Lyubeznov were auditioned for the role of Experienced. But Ivan Pyryev advised to pay attention to the little-known actor Yevgeny Morgunov. It was a hit in the top ten

For the role of Balbes, the director invited Sergei Filippov, but he was busy, and did not want to star in this role. Vitsin offered to try the clown of the Moscow circus Yuri Nikulin. He already had several minor roles in the movies. Seeing him Gaidai immediately exclaimed: "Here it is - Goonies! And do not need makeup."

A short film about the adventures of unlucky poachers was filmed for a month in the village of Snegiri near Moscow. About the shooting, I already did a story. Who is interested can read in the post How Leonid Gayday "The Dog The Barbos and the Unusual Cross" filmed

Fixing success, Gaidai took up shooting a new short film, which he invited already a popular top three

Immediately there were difficulties - Morgunov refused to withdraw, considering the role of the Passed pass and not serious. Only the interference of Pyriev forced the actor to agree

The film was eventually filmed in two weeks. In it, the actors no longer just ran, but also sang

The plot for the film Gaidai was suggested by Yuri Nikulin - he played such an interlude in the circus. He also proposed the first version of the song for the film to the melody of the folk song "Semyonovna". It's true she did not go into the film (Why? Read in the post The carved song from the movie "The Moonshiners")

At this time, the successful trio "tried to entice" Eldar Ryazanov - he took it in the comedy "Give a plaintive book"

And the favorites of the audience became welcome guests on the "Blue Lights"

Maybe Gaydai would release the Trio, but he was not given it - the leadership of Mosfilm wished to see them in one of the parts of the new comedy Gaidai about the adventures of student Shurik

It is said that the film was later criticized by many critics - criminals appeared too cute. But the viewer was delighted

Details on the shooting of all three novels you can read in the post How to shoot "Operation" Y "and other adventures Shurik"

After the release of Operation Y, Gaidai was determined not to shoot more than three, but he was not given again - work was already underway on the script for the film under the working title Shurik in the Mountains, which later became a remarkable "Caucasian Captive"

That's just this movie really was the last for Gaidai, where he shot the famous trio

Why? I think you all are already well aware of the conflict between Gaidai and Morgunov

In addition, the director, despite all the assurances for a long time believed that the matrix with the troika has already been worked out and exploited it can not

The creative union of the three actors did not survive the separation from Gaidai.

She was also tried to reanimate in the film "Seven Old Men and a Girl", but it was after this film that many agreed that the trio had outlived itself

Another attempt to play on their former popularity was made in 1980 in the movie "The Comedy of Days Past." But only Morgunov and Vitsin agreed. Nikulin did not like the script and he refused to shoot

Their only connection can be considered work on the plate "The Occurrence in the Country of Multi-Pult", where they voiced not even their heroes, but the robbers from the "Bremen Musicians", whose images were successfully sketched for the cartoon Inessa Kovalevskaya and Max Zherebchevsky (see the story How was created a cartoon "Bremen Town Musicians")
