In our childhood there were a lot of fun, which now, looking back, you look, if not with horror, then with bewilderment: how we remained unharmed. One of the most popular fun of the boys of those years was the slingshot
The slingshot was for any self-respecting boy, and not only for bullies. It was made from a suitable branch with a spear. Which only branches did not break on slingshots - hazel, maple, lilac, but in principle, almost any suitable branch (but the main thing is not poplar). The medical bandage (which we called the bandage) was used as strings. Brown was valued above gray - he was tighter and tighter. And it could be replaced with rubber from a torn soccer ball - it would be harder to shoot from such a slingshot, but its power increased. Well, a piece of dense skin (from the same torn ball, for example) for the heel, where, in fact, the shell was laid.
The projectiles were mostly small stones, nuts or balls from bearings. Well, they chose different goals. Someone shot bottles and cans. Someone, fools, on glasses and plafonds. And someone, the most cruel, was more interested in live targets - sparrows and pigeons
The slingshot had a modification, so to say a light version, which was made of aluminum or copper wire. The elastic for her was taken - Hungarian. And the shells served as bent pieces of the same wire
