Kashchey the Immortal in domestic cinema

Koschei the Immortal. One of the main villains of Russian folk tales. A very powerful wizard, who could only be defeated by breaking a well-hidden needle. In addition to Russian fairy tales, his image can be traced in western fantasy. The same Sauron with death in the ring or Lord Voldemort with his crucifixes

But this is a separate topic for conversation. Back to our movie

The first image of Kashchei the Immortal was embodied on the screen by Georgy Milyar in the eponymous tale of Alexander Row in 1944

For me, this is one of the best images of a classic villain, embodied on the screen by a master of evil spirits (but Baba Yaga made him even better)

The second appearance on the screen was almost imperceptible. Yevgeny Lebedev flashed in this role in the movie "Rimsky-Korsakov"

It was even more likely not the role of Koshchey, but the role of the actor who played Kashchei in the opera of the great composer.

And then there was again Georgy Milyar and again in the tale of Alexander Row

In the movie "Fire, water and ... copper pipes," Kashchei had nothing to do with the first villain. He was much more comedic

The next Kashchei was Fedor Nikitin in the fairy tale "Funny magic"

It was the first transfer of a fairy tale into modernity and Kashchei was hidden in it under the guise of an accountant.

Another comic Kashchey appeared in the New Year's review "New Adventures of Masha and Viti"

The role of the villain in this film was played by Nikolay Boyarsky (known for the role of Adam Kozlevich in The Golden Calf) —the uncle of Mikhail Boyarsky (who also played in this tale — the cat of Matthew)

Next comes, in my opinion, the best Kashchei of our cinema - Alexander Filippenko in the fairy tale "There, on unknown paths ..."

Kashchei Oleg Tabakov in the film "After the rain on Thursday" is more original and far from the classic image

Another, more classical Kashchey (but also modernized) appeared on the screen in the fairy tale "Sitting on the Golden Porch" and was played by Viktor Sergachev

The Purple Ball is not exactly a fairy tale, it’s kind of like a fantasy, taken from the book of Cyrus Bulychev. But there, too, was Kashchei. And he was played by Igor Yasulovich

The last Soviet Kashchei was played by Valery Ivchenko in "The Tale about a Painter in Love"

After that, fairy tales were forgotten for a long time and remembered about Kashchee only in 2004, when the film "The Legend of Kashchestvo or In Search of the Thirtieth Kingdom" was released. In it, young Kashchei was played by Anatoly Smiranin

and old Alexei Petrenko

To my shame, I confess - I did not even know about the existence of this film. I will make up

Another modern Kashchei in the same 2004 played Nodar Mgaloblishvili in the film "Miracles in Reshetov"

In 2009, in the first Russian film from Disney's “Book of Masters,” Gosha Kutsenko became the villain

And in a fierce thrash called "Adventures in the Thirtieth Kingdom" he was played by Yevgeny Schetinin

Another image of Kashchei in our time was embodied by Leonid Yarmolnik in the film "The Real Fairy Tale"

Well, the last to date image of the fairy-tale villain in the movie was Kaschei Konstantin Lavronenko in the new film The Last Knight (again from Disney)

True, I have not had time to look at it and I can’t say anything about this image.
