"Trilogy about love" by Eldar Ryazanov

In the work of Eldar Ryazanov, there are three films that he himself combined into a trilogy. And he called her "The Trilogy of Love." Guess which films are we talking about? "The irony of fate, or with a light steam!", "Office romance" and "Station for two." It would seem that completely different characters, unlike the plots. By what principle did Ryazanov unite them in a cycle? But see for yourself. What we see in all three films.

He and she are the two main characters, no longer young, but also not yet old. And both can not be called happy. I mean at the beginning of the film. Take a look for yourself.

The hard-bitten bachelor Zhenya Lukashin, who lives in his 30's with a wank with his mother, and Nadia Shevelev, who is in a similar situation. Both of them seem to be on the verge of weddings. But are they happy with it, and is it their choice? Question...

And yet - they are all completely different from each other - neither in character nor in status. And these two heroes life collides with each other in a rather delicate situation. As a result - a bright mutual dislike, which does not even turn into quarrels with scandals, but almost into military actions.

But gradually, over time (in one film for a night, in another - for a longer time), when the characters get to know each other better, when they begin to evaluate each other according to inner, spiritual qualities, and not on the external (it is possible to say defensive) stance, they come together and feelings arise between them. No wonder they say one step from love to hate. And in the case of the Ryazanov trilogy - the reverse path, from hatred of love

All three films are about how they find each other two loneliness. Sorry for the phrase, but it fits here like no other.
