Cut scenes from "Ivan Vasilievich changes profession"

They say that Leonid Gaidai even boasted that his films were practically not affected by censorship. It seems that the fragments that he was told to cut out were inserted specifically to save the main material. So it or not - I do not know. But there were moments that Gaidai cut himself. His films were perfected. But sometimes I want to see something that did not get into the main version of the picture. And sometimes it's possible. For example, in one of Gaidai's best comedies, "Ivan Vasilievich changes his profession," part of the episodes cut from the film could be watched. The truth is not in the movie

And where, you ask. At home, at home projectors. There were such in the course of those times. Not all, of course. But there were. And they played mostly home videos on them (of course, those who had their own home cinema camera working on an 8 mm film). And yet, for such movie projectors, you could buy a movie in the store. And that's how some could see in the 70's those same episodes that were not included in the rolling version of the film. And they were able to do it thanks to the short film "Black Gloves", released only on this, we can say amateur, 8 mm film.

The main hero of this 12-minute film was Georges Miloslavsky, whose working gloves became the title of the film. And it is interesting that it is in it that you can see the further fate of the charming shopkeeper. As you remember, in the film it is not clear whether he was able to escape from the police when he was exposed - the action was postponed to the return of Tsar Ivan the Terrible in his era. Well, then the main character woke up, and realized that it was just a dream (well, or nonsense)

But it turns out Gaidai was not going to throw the storyline Miloslavsky not told. And that's why he did not put it in the main version of the picture? Apparently decided that it drags the film. But not wanting to lose such material, I released it on an amateur video

But to find out how the adventures of Georges ended we can, thanks to the digitization of the very 8 mm film (the sound most likely was imposed on digitization - the film was stylized for silent cinema)

But in this video, you can see more specifically which scenes were cut from the movie
