The best films of Soviet cinema. 1966 year

It's time to return to the old (and unfinished) rubric "The Best Movies of Soviet Cinema", where we remember which films are famous for one or another year. We stopped in 1965. So, it turns out 1966. It's bad that it's hard to find all the old issues of the "Soviet Screen" magazine, where the last issue of each year printed a full list of the films that were released in the rental. But remember the most notable films of the year in our power

The leader of the rental at the end of the year was not even a film, but the first episode of the film - the first part of the screen version of Leo Tolstoy's novel "War and Peace" - "Andrei Bolkonsky" (58 million viewers)

But about the second and third series of this film, we'll remember when we talk about the next, 1967

The third place, after the brilliant comedy "In Jazz Only Girls," won an adventure film about scouts "On thin ice" (42.5 million viewers)

It is interesting that according to the results of the audience vote of the magazine "Soviet Screen", the best film of the year was recognized another adventure picture - "No one wanted to die", who took the place of the 20th place

But back to the leaders of the rental. Having conceded a couple more places to foreign bands, the sixth place was taken by the melodrama "Women" (35.6 million viewers)

And the seventh drama "The Viper" (34 million viewers)

In general, the year was rich in good films. It was about the films of this year was a report in the American magazine LIFE
